We get a number of questions relating to the venue for different events all the time, so in an effort to help you before you attend, we have listed some of them here for you to peruse before the event to make your visit as stress-free as possible!

WHAT TIME DOES THE EVENT OPEN?

Comic Con North East opens at the same time over the course of the weekend this time is as follows:

Saturday Entry: 9.00am

Saturday Closing: 6.00pm

​

Sunday Entry: 9.00am

Sunday Closing: 6.00pm

 

DO YOU HAVE CAR PARKING? 

There are over 600 convenient Official Car Park spaces available on site at the rear of the building that offer;

 

CCTV cameras

Regular security patrols

 

Alternatively, when our Car Park is full, we recommend using the NCP Car Park located next to the Arena, with its entrance on Redheugh Bridge Road.

 

Cars with wheelchair patrons can park at the Arena subject to availability on a first-come first-served basis. Pre-booking is not available.

DO YOU HAVE A CASH MACHINE?

There is no ATM at the Utilita Arena and we strongly advise that you make sure you bring cash with you.

​

We do however, have card terminals at each guest's table as well as in the photo areas where you can purchase photo ops, autographs, selfies, and COA certificates.  

​

Finally, it is worth noting that the vast majority of traders accept cards as well as cash, but always check with the trader before purchasing an item.

DO YOU HAVE WI-FI?

We currently have WI-FI in the hospitality arenas but not in the Main Arena or Foyer.

DOES THE VENUE OFFER DISABLED ACCESS?

The Utilita Arena endeavours to make the venue as fully accessible as possible for all visitors. They have a number of dedicated accessible car parking spaces available on a first come, first served basis. There are disabled toilets at the venue. WHAT FOOD AND DRINK OPTIONS DO YOU OFFER?

There will be a number of food and drink vendors at the event.

DO YOU HAVE ACCOMMODATION NEARBY?

From luxury hotels to simple rooms to please, you’ll find a huge variety right on the doorstep.

 

WHAT DO I DO IF I NEED FIRST AID?

There are always trained first aid staff available at each event during opening hours. If you require medical attention, just ask the nearest member of staff for immediate assistance.

 

DO YOU HAVE BABY CHANGING FACILITIES?

There are baby changing facilities in selected toilets, please ask a member of staff for the nearest one during your visit.

 

CAN I SMOKE AT THE VENUE?

Utilita Arena Newcastle is a smoke free venue; smoking is not allowed throughout the building.

 

It is possible to smoke outside of the venue; a dedicated smoking area is located outside at the front of the Arena.

 

Electronic cigarettes are not permitted for use inside, due to the sophistication of these devices; it is increasingly difficult to identify guests in the auditorium smoking compared to those smoking electronic cigarettes. To assist with this, guests who wish to use these devices are requested to use the external smoking area.
